October 20 Class

So this class is 3 hours long, and all they talked about was legalizing marijuana.  We also watched a movie on it, and it is a ridiculous thing!  It does some messed up things to people, loss of memory, lack of memory and a lot of other things.  I think that marijuana should be leagalized because then the people who do it should pay for it.  But on the other hand it isn't a good thing to leagalize because everyone else will be taxed for it.  And they really shouldn't have to have taxes towards it if they don't do it.  So many people do it, and it just smells nasty!  I would neverrrr try it, ewwww.

College Life..

So college absolutely sucks out here...and I am just so bored with it.  I decided to play basketball to make it not be so boring anymore, and with that I am sooo sore!  :(  What was I thinking?!  ughh   anyways hopefully that season goes by fast since basketball has to be the longest season out of any other sport..its ridiculous!  they should all be the same.  four months to go!  yay.   and hopefully my soreness goes away real quick because it sucks not being able to really walk or anything.    and on top of that, last night at basketball I got hit by a frikin basketball right in the face.  thought it was another black eye!  same eye that I had gotten elbowed by in high school, but its nothing nearly as close as the one I got during high school. so we'll see how the season goes, since I felt so guilty for not playing now I hope it goes by fast!  it's very time consuming!

Super Size Me!

I personally find this movie very disturbing.  I first saw this movie in my health class during high school.  Even though this movie may seen gross, it is a part of life.  Mcdonalds and any fast food restaurant is making tons of money, people don't realize the health risk behind it.   You can catch many diseases or anything that can mess with your body from all the greasy foods.  I believe that the restaurants are and aren't to blame.  They are to blame because their foods are too fatty and tons of calories.  They aren't to blame because it is the individuals choice to pick if they want to eat there or not.  They can go every so often, but going all the time id just calling for a major health drop!  I personally have someone close to me that used to eat McDonalds at least 4 times a week.  Due to eating it all the time, he gained a lot of weight.  Eventually he got it down to about once a week then didn't eat it at all for months on end.  He had lost about 20-30 pounds just from not eating the food.  Yeah McDonalds can really do that to you, it's terrible!   America is the biggest continent all over the world, and is becoming obese and its mostly due to not eating right and not exercising.  Fast food will make you gain weight and cause countless health issues down the road.    In Long Island, it is less that 13 miles long, and less than 2 miles wide...and there are a total of 83 McDonalds in the area.  EWWW!

Ten Ten Ten

So as everyone probably realized Sunday was 10/10/10 !    My Sunday I ended up at the lake, which was fun since it was nice out.   I didn't end up going out on the boat though, the water was way to cold to do that.  I wish it was warmer out so I could have went water skiing one last time before the boat was put away :(  that was sad that i couldn't.   But anyways I went up there to help take out docks and hoist which is the worst thing everr!!  But I was lucky enough to be on the shore helping that way since I didn't have any waders to go into the water haha.   So we got my uncle's docks out and I thought we were done, hahaha good one!  We had to still take out the neighbors docks....  Therefore we were going over there and all the guys took out this huge dock and it was on wheels, so I grabbed a cinder block to put on the wheel.  And i set it down behind the wheel  stood there for a second looked down and something was moving!  I started freaking out and I had thought it was a snake.  OMG!!  ewwww  but everyone was like noo its just a hushpuppy snake that lived in the mud.  It was still nastyyyy!   So after all that happened, I operated the four wheeler to pull the hoist in so I could be away from that nasty thing that scared me.    After we finished I drove the four wheeler over to our shore, sitting there putting it into park and my uncle comes up behind me with something that had rocks all over it. I had knee-high waders on and in his hand is that nasty thing!!  I don't think I've moved so fast trying to get awayy.  I went running up the stairs freaking outt.  YUCK!    He eventually threw it in the water and I got back on the four wheeler and drove awayy I was like frightened to be near the water anymore!   After all thatt we left, went to the cider mill and got cider and donuts.   THEY WERE AMAZINGGG!!!! :D   and very tasty.   That was my tententen ;)

Saturday

So this past weekend I went to a wedding.  WOO!  Anyways it was for my boyfriend's cousin, it wasn't too bad, I had fun since I was with him.   And anyways I love going to weddings, hence why I want to be a wedding planner someday :)   sounds like so much fun i know!  But i don't know what else to say about it... their colors were red, it was all fall themed.  As their party favor they made candy apples which were something new that I've seen.  I'm so sad i couldn't eat them though ugh!   And the bride had the most amazing dress on that I've ever seen!!  It is exactly like the one that I want when I get married.  I saw it on television on a show and I fell in love with it, and seeing it on television made me even love it moreee!  Oh and they played the same song that I want at my wedding!  It was so weird :p   at least they didn't have the same color I want when I have minee. haha  so that's how i spent my saturday :)

Zachary!

Zach has been my best friend for the past 18 years.  We have know each other our entire life and are pretty much like brother and sister.  I don't know what I would do without him as one of my friends, and to have him here at college, makes it so much better.    We were told to ask someone we admire at college and interview them, so here it is.

*Who do you admire the most?
**My mom and my friends.
*Why do you admire me as a friend?
**You've been there all along, and we just know each other better than anyone else.
*Would college be different if we separated?
**Very different, it wouldn't be as interesting!!
*What is your daily schedule like?
**Classes, clubs, homework, and hanging out with friends!
*Did you look forward to going off to college and being on your own?
**Yes, but now I miss my family. I just want to graduate and be done! :)
*How is college life for you?
**Good, just like high school but a different place, and new friends.
*What is the hardest part at being at college?
**Being away from my family.
*Are you happy that you knew people moving in here?

**Accounting.
*What are looking forward to the most about college?
**Meeting new people, and the holidays off.

College Life so far!

Alright so college is half way through it's first semester.  And I just had to take a midterm, which was the easiest test ever! :)  Psychology 101.  But anyways, the first five weeks have flown by lately, and it's going to be a quick year.  With Fall Break coming right around the corner, going home to see my family, I'm stoked about that!! :D   Anyways, the whole being in the middle of nowhere doesn't really work out for me.  I would much rather be someone in the city.  Not really sure what I was thinking but oh well.  On the other hand, classes are easy! That's always a plus.  I really don't plan on changing much that I can think of.  I'm the type that changes as things go, so we will see how college turns out.

CEB Event

So the other day there was a CEB in the Student Center.  We welcomed Randall Padgett from a small town in Alabama, who had been on death row for three and a half years.  He had a happy life, with two children and a loving wife on a little farm in Alabama.  He went to the University of Alabama, graduating with his degree in Business, and had worked at a factory type building as a manager.  One night his coworker had trouble starting her car, so he helped, and led up to an affair with his wife, which he regrets. He was accused of killing his wife, who was raped after being stabbed 40 times.  He was with his two children the night of the killing, took his children to their aunts, and left to go to Florida.  When their aunt took the children home to see their mother, the little had found her mother laying on the bed drenched in blood. Since he had the affair, they suspected Randall as the first witness. He spent five years in jail went to trial twice where the jury had fallen asleep during it because they thought it was so boring, so that really didn't help his case.  As they went through finger prints and did blood test they had found his fingerprints at the scene.  Also, the exterminator doing the blood said it was a match, but he was for sure it wasn't his so he made them do another.  As they tested they found that the blood type they had had changed.  How could that happen really?  As years went by, Randall lost his house and everything he had.  After spending all those years in jail he was accused of killing his wife and put on execution on his birthday, May 22.  Finally they had found out that Randall really didn't kill his wife, but they will not go for the other person who had really killed her because they don't want to prove that he was right and they were wrong. He also signed up to get paid for the time he was in jail, but Alabama has said they would never give out that much money to someone since they don't have it, therefore he doesn't have the chance to be part of that. Randall mourns his wife until this day, but is now remarried, and still unemployed because of the felony he was accused of.  That is the story of a man who went from death row to innocent.
